Join us on World Stroke Day, Tuesday October 29th for an event for Mom's and children of all ages to impart nutrition knowledge to implement in your home from a Mom who is a stroke survivor that had an 8 year old daughter diagnosed with obesity and severe high cholesterol. Come enjoy fun and interactive dialouge and a kid friendly cooking demonstration to begin a healthy change in your home.


Guest Speakers, Tamika Quinn and Cashara Quinn will share their journey as Mother and Daughter faced with serious health challenges and having to make that SHIFT at home to save their lives.


The brand new coloring book, "Mommy and Me: Color Me Healthy" will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit G.L.A.M. Giving Life and Motivation Inc. 501c3 organization.

Walk To End Stroke

G.L.A.M. will be sharing healthy lifestyle changes to incorporate during this event. Blood pressure assesments will be provided and there will be a DJ during the prep rally leading up to our walk around Mt. Trashmore. This will be an afternoon of fun, healthy education, fitness and fellowship. There will be be vendors on site for you to shop as well. Let's put an END TO STROKE together!

Eat Less Salt

The American Heart Association reccomends no more than 2,300mg of salt per day (1 tsp), but ideal is no more than 1,500mg per day.

Drink Water

Our bodies need water. For optimal performance, it is reccomended that we drink half of our body weight in water daily.

Exercise

The benefits of exercise are

-increased cardiovascular health

-better mental health

-enhanced flexibility and endurance

-weight management

-reduced chronic disease

-increased energy

-improved sleep
